A safer, simpler way to transport bear spray in vehicles, aircraft, commercial fleets, and backcountry operations.
Bear Vice is an industrial-grade bear spray transport lockout created to help prevent accidental discharge during transportation.
The idea was born during a Search and Rescue deployment when a volunteer’s bear spray accidentally discharged near a helicopter pilot. The incident exposed a serious gap in bear spray transportation safety. Existing holsters and bulky containers were not designed to provide the visible, repeatable lockout system that professional teams and backcountry users need.

During a SAR deployment, a volunteer's bear spray accidentally discharged. By sheer luck, it missed the pilot of the helicopter picking us up. If that spray had hit the pilot, it would have been a catastrophic, life-threatening aviation emergency.
That was the moment I realized the industry didn't need another holster or bulky container; we needed an industrial-grade transport lockout.

I am building Bear Vice to give commercial fleets, search and rescue units, and backcountry recreationists a simple, visible, and verifiable protocol for transporting bear spray safely. By backing this campaign, you are helping fund the final engineering validation and tooling required to establish this new safety standard for the North American backcountry.
